Farewell, Barbara Schaerrer

Barbara Schaerrer, a former member of the Bloomington 7th Ward, a dedicated and longtime temple worker, outstanding B7 Relief Society president, and all-around good friend, slipped into eternity on May 29, 2013 after a brief but valiant battle with cancer.  She and husband Doug retired to St. George and still own a home in the neighborhood but they returned to Lindon several years ago to be closer to family, including four kids and 13 grandchildren.

Barbara loved sports, but her favorite was baseball.  The first of three children born to Glen and Beulah Berge of Payson, she took on the role of “bat boy” for the semi-professional teams on which her father played or coached.  Later, Barbara also became an excellent player and coach.  She earned a degree in Physical Therapy from Utah State University then went on the teach PE at high schools in Phoenix, Arizona and Orem.
Barbara will always be remembered among the sisters of the B7 Relief Society for her big happy smile, her firm handshake and flowers on the table every Sunday morning.

Sister Schaerrer made a difference in the world during her lifetime and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
